Love as the Good Morality of Believers

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. (Galatians, 5:22)

... But knowledge puffs up while love builds up. (1 Corinthians, 8:1)

If it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. (Romans, 12:8 -9)

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love… (1 Corinthians, 13:13)

... The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. (Galatians, 5:6)

For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love... (2 Timothy, 1:7)

... Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. (2 Corinthians, 13:11)

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love... (Colossians, 3:12-14)

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." (Hebrews, 13:5)

… Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, devoutness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight [struggle in the way] of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life [Heaven]. (1 Timothy, 6:10-12)

...Be ...sound in faith, in love and in endurance. (Titus, 2:2)

… Let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. (1 Thessalonians, 5:8)

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love. (1 Corinthians, 16:13-14)

And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us... (Ephesians, 5:2)

Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness… and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through... bad report and good report. (2 Corinthians, 6:4-8)

But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. (2 Corinthians, 8:7)

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God in Whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossians, 2:2-3)

… Pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other… (Ephesians, 4:31-32)

Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God... (1 Peter, 2:17)

Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light [of God], and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them. (1 John, 2:10-11)

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. (Romans, 12:14)

[Jesus:] "But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." (Luke, 6:27-28)

If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. (Luke, 6:32)

If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others?... (Matthew, 5:46-47)

And do not forget to do good and to share with others… (Hebrews, 13:16)

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is Mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. If you do this, you will make him feel guilty and ashamed. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans, 12:17-21)

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.. (Ephesians, 4:2)

… Set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. (1 Timothy, 4:12)
